Kindiki Announces Sh3.015 Billion Market Projects in Nakuru
The Nesuit, Mauche and Kihingo markets are being constructed at a cost of Sh55 million, Sh56 million and Sh65 million, respectively, according to Kindiki.

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has announced that construction of three markets in Njoro Constituency, Nakuru County, is nearing completion, as the government expands trading infrastructure across the region.
The Nesuit, Mauche and Kihingo markets are being constructed at a cost of Sh55 million, Sh56 million and Sh65 million, respectively, according to Kindiki.
The Deputy President made the announcement on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, during his development tour of Njoro Constituency, where he inspected ongoing government projects.
Across Nakuru County, 25 markets are currently under construction, while another four are planned under the government's wider programme to improve trading facilities.
Kindiki said the ongoing market projects across the county had a cumulative cost of Sh2.3 billion, with the four planned markets expected to require an additional Sh715 million.
The investments are aimed at improving facilities for traders and strengthening local economic activities by providing better spaces for businesses to operate.
The Deputy President also highlighted investments under the Housing Fund, saying Sh47 billion had been deployed in Nakuru County for affordable housing, institutional housing and market development.
According to Kindiki, the funding covers 17 affordable housing projects, 19 institutional housing projects and 29 market projects.
The projects form part of the government's broader development programme, which combines housing provision with the construction of commercial facilities to support economic activity.
The completion of the three markets in Njoro is expected to provide traders with improved working spaces, although specific opening dates were not provided in the announcement.
